So halo.bungie.org is running a Halo pumpkin carving contest. Heck, why not? Here are some photos of my entry. The beginning: kind of looks like Samus’s helmet, eh? See the source material on the laptop?

Finished the Master Cheif’s helmet! Here it is - both in the light and in the dark (w/ candle). I cut holes (with a .45 shell) through the face where the lights on the helmet go. I’m pleased with the results!

Carving away on the back side…

… and on the backside: Halo 2! This is a tracing from the old halo2.com website. Actually, I’m not a big fan of tracings - I don’t consider it ‘real’ pumpkin carving. I could have traced that same thing onto paper - who cares if it’s on a pumpkin? Anyone can trace, and it takes no skill. The carving of the Master Chief’s helmet - now THAT’s carving. I took a pumpkin and made it look like like something else…
