Oblivion Delayed

Elder Scrolls IV: Oblivion, and sites are tossing around a December 5 release date. More as it comes, and becomes more official.

Oh well - I’d rather have a bug-free, optimized game then get it sooner.

Now I don’t have any game for my Xbox 360. Guess I’ll have to get another one… now let me see… suggestions?

EDIT: It’s worse - new release “date” is “early 2006.”

I couldn’t help but notice that you do not have any FPS titles with your current list of 360 games you were getting. May I suggest either Perfect Dark Zero or Call of Duty 2? I will be getting PDZero for myself, they had some neat ideas for MP, such as the shock value [when you get hit by a fist or melee attack, if they don't kill you, your life bar recovers some of the lost life]. I played the original Perfect DArk game on N64, and it was the true successor to Golden Eye. Plus, the original guns from the game are being used along with newer weapons. The nice thing about the weapons in PDZero, just as in Perfect Dark #1, all guns have 2 functions. For example, the Magsec could switch from semi-auto to 3 round burst. The Laptop gun went from an Uzi to a sentry gun that could hang from walls or ceilings. The Dragon gun acted like a AK-47, but had a grenade launcher as a secondary device. The K-7(?) was like an M-16, but doubled as a land mine (which was very tricky because you were not sure if you were picking up a weapon or walking on a mine in MP). The storylinein teh original game was a “kill the aliens” type, but still good. The second installment pre-dates that. So there’s my plug for PDZero.

As for Call of Duty, I hear it is really envoloping, but that it is hard to play it for a long time because it is too engrosing- if you can believe that. AS you know, it is based on WW2, a classic favorite genre for me, but I still have my roots in the slight futuristic PDZero game. I recommend PDZero because if you got it, then we could have a small split screen LAN party sooner rather than later. But, please research both titles as you should find the one that interests you best. There is also a title called GUN, based on a western theme, but I am not familiar with that title.

Best of luck in your choices. I hope you chose wisely (if you need a hint, it would be to chose PDZ).

Oh yeah, my condolences about ES:Obliv. I originally pre-ordered Ghost Recon 3, but seeing how it was pushed back to Feb. `06, I switched my order to Perfect Dark and Oblivion. Now that Oblivion has been pushed back til Dec. 5th, I sincerely hope that Perfect Dark pulls through, otherwise I will be hellapissed. Imagine having a 360 with nothing to do. Makes a man wanna punch kittens.

More cow bell!!!

Or not. Who knows? Hmm. I haven’t researched any other 360 game - guess I’d better get cracking… not too interested in a FPS - I’ll wait for Halo 3, probably.

Are you serious? You mean I typed all that crap just to hear you state you’re a just FPS Halo snob?

Fine, go do your research, maybe Final Fantasy XI or 99 Nights is more up your alley.

Oh, and that article is inconclusive. “Holiday”, what day does that mean? Meanwhile, I’ll probably get Civ. 4 at the end of this month. I find it so gratifying taking over the world (pinky finger meets lower lip).

Tell me about it - I read the publishers press release about this yesterday. The Oblivion forums are going nuts, because the developers simply refuse to talk about it. No information mean unhappy fans. :( Not sure what to do now… I’m looking for something more family oriented. I think. I think that means that CoD2 and maybe even Kameo are out. Thoughts?

Something family oriented? Maybe you should cancel your 360 pre-order and get a Nintendo Revolution. I hear they cater more to the “family” people.

Uhm, quite frankly, I do not have much to refer you to. You probably “tolerate” racing games, just like me. There is the FF game coming out. But really, I think you’re going to be playing Hexic for a long, long time. I’m going to cancel my Obliv. pre-order- no use for it for the next 4 months or so. Maybe I’ll pick up Cod2… I’ll have to get back to you on that. I will say that I finally saw Ghost Recon 3 in 720p resolution. It is a must purchase for me now. If you find a list of the games that are launching, I can give you my perspective on them. Plus, I need to see what other game I plan to get, CoD2 is still a maybe at this point.

Wow! He can speak in tongues. And he(?) was kind enough to give us a link to his pink blog. Well, that was nice of him.

In other news, ES:Obliv is supposedly coming out in March. Cross your fingers!

DELETED! Don’t ya love comment spam…

Oblivion in March is the best theory so far. Too bad it’s just a theory. :( What does it take to get a release date? Are they so incompetent, that they don’t know when they’ll be done? Being in business is all about setting and hitting goals, I thought.
