I am the proud owner of an Xbox 360

I am the proud owner of an Xbox 360… Play and Charge kit. Yay! I’ve got a rechargeable battery, and the cable to charge it! So exciting! :) GameCrazy was holding these peripherals for those who had pre-ordered them. I guess they had enough to go around.

Hey, does anyone have any information on how many wireless controllers you’e seen around? Halo requires four, and I’ll have one (someday). Is it going to be hard to get the four we all need for our next Halo party?

UPDATE: I just got a second wireless controller from Fred Meyer here in Corvallis - they’ve got a whole stack of ‘em. Ok, so I’m still missing the actual console with the first wireless controller… :)

Congrats on your Xbox 360… Play and Charge kit. As for the controller issue, I think that they sell for $50 each. I haven’t seen any in stores, and from what I see it looks like the ebay market is in control of them as well. It might be hard to get 4 for each 360 especially right now. So when do we get to come over and play with the play and Charge kit?

I was so close to dropping an f-bomb after reading the title- only to find out that it was a peripheral (one that I have as well). There is no reason for you to get the 360 before me, who happens to be pre-order #14 in case you forgot. But, since I “may” get my 360 by Monday, I guess it really doesn’t matter any more.

I haven’t seen many controlers as of late. I did pre-order an extra controller for the 360, but it is wired. Were we planning to have a LAN anytime soon? Even still, the 360 is compatible with the xbox, so those poor suckers can keep on playing Halo 2 in EDtv, while the rest of us enjoy the upgraded beauty therein.

I move to rename Diablo to “#14″. All in favor say ‘aye’. If I ever hear a rant about being 14 on the list again it will be too soon.

“aye”, I agree, since when is being “#14″ a good thing?

well, when thousands of people are waiting for something, being #14 is a rather good spot, is it not? of course, i doubt thousands of people have preordered at HIS particular store, so 14 out of a few dozen isn’t anything to shout about ;)

Hmm, “Diablo #14″ doesn’t sound too bad, but I think there are better names for me to use like, “In your face non#14 punks!”

Nevertheless, I’ll be looking for a new handle soon, like a few others as well, but “#14″ will not be included. Oh, and Gamestop said I will not get my precious #14 today. Bombing run anyone?

Hi all, I am not a gamer but am now putting my feet into the water into pc games. My maxonline contract is expiring soon and now pondering on taking up the Xbox 360 core promo fm Starhub. But from what I’ve read in the net, lots of people are saying “stay off the core bundle cos its gonna cost you more money buying the accessories..”
One question here..is this Starhub xbox 360 promo designed to squeeze more money out of their customers by offering something less worth the taking?
Second question.. any diff between Xbox and pc games ? Fm what I’ve seen, pc game is more economic than xbox… can anyone comment??

I’ll need a little more information on the “Starhub” promo before I could render an opinion. I prefer to piece my gaming expereince together, but I would stipulate that you should not buy the “core” model. It is completely upgradable and could be a premium model if you wanted to by a seperate harddrive, etc.

Any difference between Xbox and PC games? Sure. I hope you are used to game controllers. That is probably the biggest difference. THere are a couple of nice things about console gaming, one is the liezure play that you get from your sofa and 30″ HDtv. Another is not having to upgrade your machine every 6 months with the latest GPU. I’m sure you’ve herad all this before from other gamers. But console gaming is more simplistic — not that PC gaming isn’t fun, but just keeping up is tedious and costly. With the console, you buy it once, not upgrading necessary, you pay about the same for PC games, if you want to play a game online, for Xboxlive, it is $4.17 a month, and you have a well-established community which allows for demo downloads among other goodies.

THat is not to say I, or we, for that matter, have sworn off PC gaming, but we are more aligned to console gaming these days and have not regretted much from our decision.
