I'd have to disagree with Stonesand's lop-sided synopsis of the beta. In fact, Recon also had a positive kill ratio of 1.107. I am a firm believer in that had Enforcer, MM and myself had not loaned out our gamertags for other people to play (and I let Grant Matthews run free for an hour using mine), then we would have been better with our Kill/Death ratios. But, we were willing to let anyone get in some Halo 3 beta love.

Nevertheless, for Sharpie's review on team stats:

Total kills: 8,952
Total deaths: 9,095
Total assists: 4,447
Total games: 933

Kill/Death ratio: .984

Coincidently, Enforcer and I had the highest military ranks: lieutenent, both of us having well over 200 games a piece. Surprisingly, MM was eerily absent most of the time, with only 82 games played.

Anyway, just had to comment as Stonesand was way out of line. His ego should now be in check.

Ah - I missed this post, as I had deleted the announcement email as one of my own.

Sharpie: all you need to know about the beta is that I had the highest kill/death ratio by far. Mine was 1.15 at the end, while everybody else was below 1. That's right - they died more often than they killed. Conan and I had particular success in the Warthog - it's a fearsome beast this time around.

Also, it appears that the Halo 3 ARG is starting up. If you have a chance, try looking at this link:

Hurray, the ban has been lifted. Finally, you can start answering your emails and what not.

So when do you get back into Oregon?

Anyway, in response to your question, Ben & I got into the beta via the second phase, whereas MM got in via Crackdown. The day the beta dropped, I invited the Willi over to play (among others), and neither of them seemed to really care that much about the beta. However, 24 hours later, Mark Willis goes out and buys 2 copies of Crackdown (for he and his brother), and so after that, there were 5 of us online at any given time. Overall, Conan the VIII got in 238 games of Halo 3 beta, attained the rank of Leiutenent, and became a "god" on the `Hog turret. As you would guess, we formed different plans for the 3 maps so that we got gain hegemony as appropriate -- I am pleased to say that towards the end of the beta, we never lost a slayer game on Valhalla. We did a stellar job covering each other and seeking better attack areas and holding choke-points. Superior tactics and weapon control, FTW!

Anyway, in the end I think we were all pleased with the beta, although Bungie, in last Friday's Weekly What's update has stated that things are already being tweaked after reviewing the data they have received. We could make threads at Bungie airing our greivances, although I am not sure if Bungie took note -- they did respond to some though.

Well, we now have to wait 105 days until Halo 3 debuts.
