Much of the world's most beautiful scenery, and many of the world's most famous landmarks and monuments are recreated in Flight Simulator. You have the freedom that only flying provides to visit many places you've only visited in imagination until now.
You could take months to fly around the world in real time in Flight Simulator, or spend an evening hopping from one famous site to the next, capturing it all in your Pilot Records photo album.
Flight Simulator's world is alive with movement. In addition to other aircraft in the sky, there are animals and vehicles on the ground, and ships and boats sailing the waters. To learn more, see The Living World.
Just like in the real world, the scenery in Flight Simulator changes with the seasons. In winter, snow cloaks the northern prairies; spring turns the hills green. Each season provides a different feel to places you thought you knew well.
Finding Scenery Highlights
There are a couple of methods for finding famous scenery and monuments in Flight Simulator. If you know of an airport near the scenery object you want to see, you can change your aircraft location to that airport and then fly to the object.

If you know the coordinates of a scenery object, you can use the map or the GPS in Flight Simulator to find it. To learn more, see Using the Map and Using the GPS.
Sample Scenery Highlights
In the past, pilots often navigated using landmarks. The Flight Simulator world is so detailed that you can navigate that way on your simulated flights. Familiar landmarks in your part of the world should be recognizable (although, even for experienced pilots, land features can be difficult to recognize from the air).
Below is a list of famous landmarks and monuments, as well as some interesting things to see in the Flight Simulator world. We provide the nearest airport and directions to make them easier to find.
Compile your own list of scenic world sights, keep track of them in your Pilot Records and share them with friends. You'll have to search to find some of them as you fly, which adds to the fun and challenge.

There are over 24,000 real-world airports modeled in Flight Simulator. We've selected specific airports to model in detail. Below is a list of the high-detail airports, along with their city and ICAO identifier. Use the airport name, international identifier, or city name to find the airport in the airport list.
Note: All airports in the list below are high-detail in Flight Simulator Deluxe version. The airports marked with an asterisk (*) in the list are include in the Standard version but in normal detail.
